I have made many upgrades and changes for RMSC this upcoming season! I will briefly talk about them here, and have more details for each of the changes in other blog post’s. Also, I will be running RMSC full time, starting Oct 2nd. Im quitting my day job, and concentrating on RMSC full time!
RMSC now has its Own Interactive snow map! Find it on the website or the apps. https://www.rmsc.rocks/new-rmsc-interactive-snow-map/ (Currently in Free Preview mode, it will be a subscription content after Hay Days). The Highpoint Weather Map will also still be available, but currently down. The NEW RMSC interactive Snow map now has new base maps- Satellite and Terrain base maps(2D and 3D). We also have Sentinel 2 Satellite imagery, this allows you to see snow coverage via the latest Sat imagery. The map also has a “How to use the 3D map” manual. More on all the map layers in another blog post. Below are some screenshots. I’m still fine tuning the Weather model map layers, but everything else is up and working.
NEW Snow Conditions boards! Find it on the website or the apps. https://www.rmsc.rocks/snow-data/ (Currently on FREE Preview, will be subscription content after Hay Days). I will still keep the Old snow Conditions boards. The New Boards have a NEW look and many more options. I also have changed my reporting, The boards will show “yesterdays” snowfall, and beyond. “Yesterdays snowfall” is from 6 am the previous day to 6 am the current day. You can now select favorites, see the current/or last season totals(from my data done manually), And select days snowfall totals in the past! I also have an “auto sync” feature. This allows me to get out and ride more, and get some on the mountain conditions out there. The auto sync works like this- The snow values for auto sync are pulled from the riding area points on the last 24 hrs snow map, and snotels(60/40 weighting). These values will likely not be as accurate as my manually done values. So, if you see an “orange”(grey/green/white values are mine done manually) value, it is from the auto sync, not myself. I will try to correct any outrageous values manually. Currently, some snotels are showing 0-1”, and that is false data, so be aware.

I have created a better way to view snotel data for all the riding areas that have snotel available. 7 Day hourly reports and favorites are available, in addition to the data shown. This allows you to check for yourself, the snotel data. Keep in mind that snotel data is only a small portion of the data I use to do snow amounts manually. The Riding pages will still have the link to the Free snotel map provided by NWCC. You will have to do your own work to get values in this manner.
NEW Webcam viewing, over 500 webcams! Find it on the website or the apps. https://www.rmsc.rocks/webcams-and-snow-stakes/(Currently on FREE Preview, will be subscription content after Hay Days). Favorites and 24hr playback now available. Limited webcams will still be available on the Riding pages(FREE), but not as many, and no 24hr playback.
I’m also going to share more riding content this season, as I will have more time not having a day job. I have not yet decided if the riding content will be public or subscription content yet. If I make it subscription content, I will also likely make it so you can upload your own riding content for areas you ride.
All this NEW content was made possible by using AI. AI is NOT running the site/apps, I am just using it to create the code possible to have these new features, as I do not have the knowledge to code it myself, nor the funds to pay to have it done.
